Sliced Zangar Buttons
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 10 ounces of mushrooms
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 and 1/2 cup beef stock
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
I thought the mushrooms that I usually cook are good but this recipe actually made me change my mind. These turn out to be the best mushrooms I have ever had. And they are so easy to prepare.
Just slice the mushrooms to in halves and melt half of the butter. Add the mushrooms and stir till they become soft. Then make a small hole in the middle to free some space to gradually add the rest of the ingredients.
Add the herbs and then the remaining butter. Add the flour and stir until there are not flour chinks left. Then add the sauce and the stock.
We actually didn’t have Worcestershire sauce at hand so we decided to make our own. Let me know if you want us to add the recipe for it.
The more you cook the dish, the thicker it will become because of the flour. This was amazing side dish that you can eat just with a slice of bread or you can complement a main dish with it.
